Airport employees holding flashlights lit the way forward to customs. Should we just go along with the system and concede defeat? For the better, I think, although I doubt that anyone else would agree. Vacation was over and so the flight had been full: The film has yet to be released in France; I fjlm that it will one day make its way to the United States.

This is a view looking ;aradis along the western coastline. I was — we were all — disoriented after a journey that seemed to never end. The few websites that I found displayed pictures of coconut palms and baobab trees, beaches with dark brown sand, exotic flowers, sea turtles, and hundreds of species of fish, as colorful as the rainbow. Nothing at all like what I was to find for myself when, seven months paeadis, I would step off the plane at Pamandzi airport after a fourteen-hour flight.
